Welcome to my blog

Day 5 & 6 of Seven day Green Juice Fast
Days 5 and 6 have been quite smooth. Physically, I’m soaring. I feel like I could stay fasting for a looooooong time. No fatigue, no nausea, nothing.
Today though, I’ve started thinking about food for the first time since I began fasting – feeling really appreciative of food, and looking forward to having it again. Interestingly, fasting is when I most understand what Gabriel means when he says, “Food is a love note from God.”

Day 3 & 4 of Seven day Green Juice Fast
I am very surprised at how great I feel on this fast. I expected to feel much more fatigue and spaciness. I expected it to be difficult. And it’s sooooooo not. It’s easy and I feel great. I’ve even been working all week with the same level of effectiveness. I am also starting to need less sleep, by an hour or so.

Day 1 & 2 of Seven day Green Juice Fast
Yesterday, day 1, was super easy for me. I did rest a lot, but didn’t experience any detox reactions (classic ones include fatigue, nausea, headache, etc). Day 1, smooth!

7 day Green Juice Fast
How’s your Spring of 2009 going?
Today is day 1 of a seven day green juice fast I am doing. Why?

Chinese Herb Consultation
After this past Eden retreat, which I hear was well attended, a few participants came down for a visit to the Tree of Life. One was “Rehmannia” Dean Thomas, who was an apprentice of Ron Teeguarden‘s for 8 years. Today he is runs his company “Shaman Shack.” I am told he actually trained Truth Calkins.

Animal Signs, Gabriel’s 66th Birthday, and Wild Treasures
As I sit here on my porch writing this, I am observing a small lizard, about 6 inches long, catching flies. This lizard picks the same spot on a particular tree every time I see it. Every weekend for the last few I’ve seen it, just chilling on the same place on the trunk that it likes to go back to.
Speaking of animal signs, last weekend a friend and I had a profound experience. We were sitting on this porch having a rather deep conversation about our lives, and a hummingbird descended right in front of us and hovered for quite while. We sat in awe (hummingbirds are rather rare here and we believe that animals often have messages for us – is anyone an ‘Animal Speak’ expert?) and then it hovered away

Satisfying My Inner Dork
Raindrops on roses, whiskers on kittens, Star Trek and Board Games, Spock, Kirk and…
This Sunday, I ventured over to the house of Ivri and Chris, two of the three owners of VivaPura. Much to the benefit and joy of my inner dork, social fulfillment and sanity, Chris and Ivri are avid gamers. I’m not talking video games here (although I must confess, I am also a playstation lover; and would surely fall to my demise were you to gift me one, along with some Final Fantasy, Need for Speed or Tekken games), but rather good ‘ole family games – board games, card games, word games, etc etc etc etc etc…

Sizzlin’ and Lemons
The days, they start to sizzle. Today it was 96 degrees, and forecast anticipates it’s creeping up to 98 this next week.
Whew.
I will say this. People get crazy when it get’s hot. Scratch that. People not normally crazy get more crazy when it’s hot. Including me. Several people here are going through some major life changes and inner growth, and it seems to be more of a challenge to ride through that when it’s so hot.

The Spirulina Salad
I know, I know. A video of me making this will come… someday

Spring and Meditation
Tis APRIL indeed, my favorite month because growing up in Vermont, April is the first month that I was reminded that indeed, snow was not to stick around forever. It was also the month of Easter, which as a child, I celebrated in the most American traditional way one can imagine. Thirdly, it’s the month of my birthday. Fourthly, it’s Spring, and well, we all know that Spring is the BEST season.. 😉

My Skin Care and Makeup Protocol
“Hey! looking good, may I ask what cosmetics do you use? I’m on a juice/ raw food diet myself but I’m feeling toxic using regular makeup. do you use organic mineral make up n skincare or something? thanks!!” -Nadine
“Yes, what is your skincare regimen, do a post on this.” -Maggie
Thank you Although I’ve never really suffered from severe acne, I have had times of my life when I experienced less than the best skin ever. Check out the comparison below:

Blogging as a Mirror
I’d like to share a comment from Kelly Ordway that resonated with me to read:
Congratulations on being courageous enough to listen to yourself and be honest! Sometimes it can be easier to do something that is not in the highest good simply out of commitment and ego (especially when exposing ourselves publicly!), yet in those moments of truly tuning in, I find deeper clarity. You are magnificent! Ganesh simply laughs while telling me not to take myself so seriously! You are a success! You are complete in each moment! With Love, Compassion and Celebration!
Modified Juice Feast Day 2 and 3
Greetings to you on this Wonderful Wednesday!
Thank you all soooooo much for your supportive comments, really, you all inspire me so much 🙂 I feel great on this modified juice feast. I am still drinking about 3-4 quarts of liquid per day. The past two days that has consisted of coconut water with Nature’s First Food, massive amounts of lemon juice with stevia, and some green juice. Additionally, I’ve eaten a salad in the middle day, and a few bites of this or that.

Modified Juice Feast Day 1
I have moved into a modified juice feast. The reason for this is that the past few days, as you have noticed from my intake, I have had almost no green juice. The reason for this is that, although I loooove the Tree of Life Cafe, the green juice is almost the exact same recipe all the time. So, half a gallon of the same thing was getting old. What ended up happening is that I went and got the green juice, and took some sips, but just didn’t feel like drinking it at all.
Juice Feast Day 13
Today’s Intake:
16 oz. kombucha (I know, naughty – not supposed to consume on a juice feast!)16 oz. parsley/celery/apple
Total juice: 16 oz.

Juice Feast Day 11
This time of year I enjoy meditations so much. It is warmer here, and so when they are held, which is at about 6:15 p.m., it is the perfect temperature outside, and the air feels like fresh budding spring! There are a few peach trees on the Tree property, and their beautiful little pink buds are beginning to peek out. I love spring. My favorite season, by far.
Juice Feast Day 12
Today’s Intake:
38 oz. orange/grapefruit with 1.5 TBS spirulina32 oz. cucumber/celery/greens/lemon/ginger with cayenne and turmeric2o oz. strawberry/orange/apple juice4 oz. fermented wild elderberry juice
Total juice: 94 oz.
That elderberry juice is AMAZING.

Juice Feast Day 10
I am experiencing something interesting. Alright, so we all are always asking for things, right? Well, I am. We want to manifest this, or that, some are small, and some are big. I always hear this talk of the ‘ability to receive’. The ability.
I have been receiving some pretty major opportunities and gifts in the past week or.. actually, basically since I began juice feasting. And what I’m finding is that I’m petrified that I’m actually receiving some things that I’ve always thought it would be nice to receive. I don’t know what to do with myself. It’s such a jump in my reality that I’m a bit shocked, I suppose. There’s the worthiness factor: “Me? Really?” “Why me?” “I’m not ready for this!” “I don’t think I deserve this.” “Someone else would do better with this opportunity.”

Juice Feast Day 9
Today’s Intake:
22 oz. orange/grapefruit with 1.5 tbs spirulina
32 oz. cucumber/celery/greens/lemon/ginger
24 oz. cucumber/celery/greens with cayenne and turmeric

16 oz. orange/grapefruit with spirulina and bee pollen

Total juice: 122 oz.
