Welcome to my blog

Tree of Life in Pictures
Following are recent pictures of the Tree of Life and its ‘Tree people’, as we call.. ourselves 😀

Wonderful Wild Fruits
It is the season of wild fruit here!!!
Saguaro fruit season has come and gone, being it is a very small window of time. This year I didn’t get out to picking any, but i did have some dried fruit a friend had picked and OH is it amazing. I have to say it is one of the tastiest fruits I have had.
I often walk up on the ‘Mesa‘ – one of the higher elevations here in Patagonia, which provides absolutely beautiful views out miles and miles in many directions. I recently found a mulberry tree on one of my walks. Most of the berries aren’t ripe yet, but every time I walk/run there, which is most every day, I pick a few of the ripe ones.. mm..

Nature as Breath
It has come to interest me to see people talk about or list ‘nature’ as one of their interests.
Lately I have been spending time, often by myself, in the velveteen mountains of the currently fantastically green Patagonia, and it occurred to me how ‘nature’, while it used to be an experience far away and few between, is the very context of my life now. Most of the time I’m not working or sleeping, I’m outside, somewhere.

July 2008 Alive with Gabriel
Hi all! This morning was this months’ Alive with Gabriel episode. I have taken notes on the 1st half of the program for you. The first half is nutritional, the second half is spiritual. It’s quite a challenge to try to paraphrase Gabriel’s spiritual teachings, so I didn’t try :)
And here we go! I’ll do them in bullet point style again…

Passionflowers and Monsoons
Ahh we have ENTERED MONSOON SEASON!!
Monsoon season, I say? But aren’t we in Arizona?? Indeed. Up here in the mountains, we get a monsoon season every year that normally starts early July (its a bit early this year) and goes into September.
It doesn’t mean that it rains all day, but rather that it is sunny and gorgeous (like it always is), and once a day it will come in and rain for an hour or so and then leave and come back the next day. So, what that means is that we get GREENER, and GREENER – absolutely gorgeous. It also means it cools down starting in July, so now we’re looking at highs only in the 90’s – our days of 104 degrees are mostly over now – whew.

Sizzling Spirulina Summertime
I had a really wonderful realization tonight. I was at our meditation/evening program tonight, and Gabriel was talking about the importance of letting go of the illusion of the story of our pasts, the goal oriented present, and the fear filled future (mode of operating where we’re trying to control the future). What was very interesting is he said something like,
“Let go of the past, goal-oriented present and the future to be in the Presence.”

Dopamine & Men’s Health
You may remember the summary I did on last month’s ‘Alive with Gabriel‘ tele/video conference. Last month was the month of Mother’s Day, and so Gabriel chose to address serotonin and how it relates to women’s health.
Back Again Back Again
I’m back home again in Utah. It amazes me that the last time I was here was 7 months ago, and I was juice feasting! I was nearing the end of that juice feast, and when I was here doing that it was one of the hardest weeks emotionally for me.
A lot has changed since then, externally in my life but mostly internally. It is nice to revisit a place you know, because it really gives an opportunity like no other to take stock in who you’ve become (and hopefully that change is for the better 🙂 )
The Era of the Vera
Whoa, so, um, HELLO. I totally forgot to write about my dark/dry field blood analysis I had done a week ago. I’ve been such a SPACE CADET this last week.
Enough of that. Blood, yes, my blood. They took it from me and forced it against its will under a microscope to be judged, analyzed, and interrogated. Just playing.

Boondockin’
Oohh its getting hot here… Today it’s supposed to get up to 95 degrees… I dearly hope this area remains cool enough to inhabit…
I left out a VERY important ingredient in the ‘porridge’ that Gabriel recommends – coconut oil!! Mix with flax to convert into long chains!!

Scenes from the Road
Hello again, I write you as the wind HOWLS outside… it has dropped down into the upper 60’s/lower 70’s today… frigid… 😉
Ok, so here I promised to recap what Dr. Cousens suggested for his new morning drink designed to cleanse the lymph, get the neurotransmitters going in the brain, mineralize the body…

Serotonin & Women’s Health
A HAPPY SUNDAY TO YOU!!
OOPS. Gabriel’s Birthday is this Wednesday, it wasn’t Friday… that’s a little embarrassing….
First matter of importance (to you? Probably not. To me? Absotively posolutely)… WEATHER UPDATE. Sunny? Check. Gorgeous? Check. And getting hot… 90 degrees today!!!
Squeemin’ for the Ice Cream
OOOOOOOOh I’m a SLACKIN’ on the bloggin’! I apologize, lovelies…
This weekend we made our first RAW ICE CREAM…. primarily with coconuts, but also threw in some cacao, carob, lucuma, coconut cream, coconut oil, and a few other things….
It’s so easy! We just used an ice cream maker, whipped up our ingredients in the blender… voila! Top with some gogi berries and cacao nibs, perfect!!
Another Diabetes Reversal!
Ok everyone, CHECK THIS OUT. This is Michael, a wonderful man who recently went through Dr. Cousens’ ‘Reversing Diabetes Naturally‘ program. Just this last week, Michael came in for a check up and Dr. Cousens confirmed that Michael officially no longer had Diabetes!!

Cockadoodle – doo
Yummies I’ve had the privilege of testing out lately are homemade hemp butter, almond butter and coconut cream, all of which are incredible. In fact, the fantastic person that is making these for me, by FAR, makes the best of them I have ever tried…

Getting Fat on Raw Foods?
Back into foods again… I’m always amazed at how just a few days of Juice Feasting can bring me back more in touch with intuitive eating… every time, just a little more.
Anthony posted a recent blog where he made the straightforward, simple, and true point that we can’t all just eat anything we want, as long as its raw. I was actually going to write about that exact thing in my last post, so I’m glad its being brought up.

Sugar THIS!
This was a weekend of juiciness for me, and it felt oh-so-good to do it in the sunny upper 80 degree weather… My intake was the same both yesterday and today:
2 quarts green juice – generally of a combination of the following: spinach/butter lettuce/alfalfa sprouts/buckwheat sprouts/sunflower sprouts/cucumber/celery/apple/lemon/ginger
2 quarts fruit juice – a combo of the following: grapefruit/orange/apple/strawberry/mango
Also adding MSM and Vitamineral Green to the juices

Hosing the Critic
Oooh it is getting HOT here… mid 80’s this weekend… before long will be the land of 90’s and 100’s… yikes! I always end up getting WHITER in the summer here because in May and June, you simply don’t go outside during the day, it’s too hot. Now, its not like Phoenix or even Tucson, but the highest temp last year here in Patagonia was 111 degrees… which is still pretty darn hot. So I am enjoying the perfect temperature while it is still here…

Chocolate Sisters
My Sunday morning was a juicy one – we woke up uninterested in food and so juiced till about 2pm when we ate a salad, and it felt so good. I just love the blessing of incorporating juice into our diet!
So0ooo… yesterday was yet another day in the sun! The day was just fantastic, complete with a nap in the sun, some work in the sun, flower watering in the sun, yoga in the sun, swimming in the sun, reading in the sun, and eating in the sun. And the perfect, perfect evening found me on a stroll amongst the gigantic oak trees lining Sonoita Creek.
