Welcome to my blog

Coconut Conundrums
Among the many delightful happenings yesterday, a local organic produce company delivered to us several thousands of pounds of:
ORGANIC, NON-IRRADITED YOUNG MEXICAN COCONUTS.

Merry Holiday Musings
A spectacular Christmas season it was for me, how about you?
Christmas Eve found us enjoying another warm sunny day during which time sunbathing was again at hand. Evening meditation was wonderful and rejuvenitive, with Dr. Cousens ending the meditation by saying,’Shalom shalom shalom, shant shanti shanti… HO HO HO!’ (Get it – Santa?) You have to appreciate that man’s sense of humor.

Spirulina Fanaticism
Christmas here in southern Arizona is a rather interesting one – I’ve always lived places that most definitely have snow this time of year, always the ideal postcard ‘Winter Wonderland’. This year, as well as last year, I’ve gotten to experience a desert winter, and I must say I am falling more and more in love with it. I ate my spirulina salad lunch on the sundeck today in my skirt and tshirt and the sun was oh so warm and the weather oh so perfect. Sometimes I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to live in a place that gets cold and/or cloudy….

Exhuberant Excitements
So how has it been, since breaking my juice feast a week ago? Very interesting. Still melancholy about food – enjoying it but missing juice feasting as well. My digestion is still quite slow, but picking up.
I’ve basically been eating just salads – sprouts and greens, with spirulina, a few times a day, plus a few peices of fruit and some green juice. That’s been about the extent, and it feels good! I love love love spirulina!

Post Juice Feast Digestion, Lifestyle Integration
So I’ve had a bit of sprout with spirulina and they are SO yummy and fulfilling. I’m having some discomfort due to my digestion being slower than I expected it to, so I’m having to be really careful about what and how much I eat. I’m hoping my digestion will normalize a bit – it’s slower than it was before I started feasting.
A new philosophy that has entered my life during the Juice Feast is the transition from an all or nothing point of view to a more integrated and balanced point of view. I know that’s sort of vague, so let me explain.

Eating Intentions
I’ve been clarifying priorities for myself as I transition back to the world of eating. Some of these regard specific decisions on what and how to eat and others are more about the mindset I am choosing to maintain surrounding food and drink. I’d like to list some of them!

Feast Breaking
Ahh yes, so how has it been breaking the feast? Interesting indeed.
Prunes. Quite the interesting thing to have as one’s first real meal. Soaking them for an entire night sure makes them nice and mushy and soggy. Delectible 😉 But WOW, was I ever SO full after that first 8 oz. of soaked prunes! Had some lovely orange juice and green juice that day, which went down well.

Day 60 Juice Feast
AAAAAAAAAH DAY 60!! So I decided today that 60 feels good to me, and I’m actually looking forward to eating again. It’s gone so fast and so slow at the same time… funny how that is. I’m just so pumped to have experienced such a marvelous tool for cleansing and healing that is so easy, enjoyable, and fun!
Today I had some green juice and a lot of watermelon juice, I was sort of all over the place today so I didn’t record the exact amounts, but oh was it YUMMY!

Day 58 Juice Feast
Whew, I’m having some very interesting back pain that has flared up again. I keep meaning to record it in my blog, but for the past 2 weeks or so, every day, I’ve had varying degrees of back pain and soreness in my lower back area. This is totally unheard of for me – back pain is never something I’ve experienced. It is likely my kidneys detoxing, so I’m just waiting it out and taking it as a sign that I might need to do some sort of kidney cleanse soon.

Day 57 Juice Feast
Yes, folks, upcoming is the EPIC Global Juice Feast 2008!! I’m announcing this to my readers now so you can all start thinking about whether you might be interested in joining us! People from all around the world, including David and Katrina Rainoshek (who will be doing 92 Days) are going to be juicing it up together and transforming their health, lives, and the world! It will start in March of 2008, right about springtime, which an AWESOME time to be cleaning house, and a time for new beginnings and new life. This could be your chance to really take action to that health, body, life and world you’ve dreamed of, and the support and fellowship of other feasters during this event will be precious. I won’t be doing another long juice feast then, but I WILL be joining in on at least the first week and the last week of the Global Juice Feast. You may want to join David and Katrina and other feasters on a full 92 Day Feast, but if you just want to scope it out, feel free to join for part of it, and I’d love for anyone who wants to do something shorter to join me on my shorter feast. It is going to be amazing!

Day 55 Juice Feast
Wow, today has been an incredible day for me. I’ve had indestructible soaring feelings of joy and gratitude, for no particular reason at all. I love that I am getting into these elation states more frequently and easily as time goes on. It’s like the illusion of limitedness and sorrow is just sort of transparent and I can feel and see through to the effortless joy and diversity and abundance that is always there waiting for us to see its gold lining on every thing and experience. Sorry if that was a bit sappy, it’s a poetic sort of day 😀

Day 54 Juice Feast
Oooh, I’ve been having so much fun on this delightful new community that Dhrumil has put together – www.giveittomeraw.com! So many wonderful people on this online community, and it’s been super exciting for me to meet some of the people who have been following my blog. The more personal the connection, the better!!

Day 53 Juice Feast
Aahhh it feels so great to be back home in Arizona! Every time I leave I return with a newfound appreciation of what it is to be in a likeminded, supportive community that I am so grateful to have here!
Today’s Feast, in order of consumption:
32 oz. Odwalla “Superfood” Juice
32 oz. Odwalla “Superfood” Juice
28 oz. green juice w/ lemon and ginger
EEeek my body feels SO wierd to have the Odwalla’s. Having recently found out the possible truth that Odwalla is owned by Coca Cola, I’m even more hesitant to drink them. But I guess you have to do what you have to do when you’re traveling!

Day 52 Juice Feast
This morning I woke up to a Winter Wonderland which blew the ‘winter wonderland’ I arrived here to OUT OF THE WATER! See pics above, it was SO magical, I don’t even know if I’ve ever seen the amazing amount of snow that stayed so long on each twig and branch… I definitely savoredit as I don’t know when the next time is that I’ll see such snow!!
Today’s Feast, in order of consumption:
32 oz. orange juice w/ 1/2 TBS MSM
24 oz. pear/apple juice
10 oz. pear/apple juice
20 oz. green leaf lettuce/apple juice

Day 51 Juice Feast
Wow, this has sure been a strange week for me… Not sure if its the recognition of how different I am since the last time I was home, or what, but interesting indeed. I feel a little off balance and am rather excited to get back to my wonderful community, abundance of juice and warm arizona weather.
Today’s Feast, in order of consumption:
30 oz. orange/grapefruit juice w/ 1/2 TBS MSM
32 oz. pear/apple/peach/mango juice
16 oz. pear/apple/peach/mango juice
30 oz. green leaf lettuce/apple juice

60 Day Juice Feast -Day 50
Ahh, the joy of an aligned spinal column and newly cut hair! Yesterday I had a chiropractor appointment, which felt AMAZING. The chiropractor is the only doctor I’ve been to in years, and I’ve actually been getting a regular adjustment (once per month at least) for probably 10 years. I absolutely love how I feel after them – a little like gumby. Everything feels so free flowing, aligned, and energized in my spine.

60 Day Juice Feast – Day 48
Wow, so I almost didn’t notice that yesterday was my one year anniversary of being totally raw vegan! I have now officially been pretty close to all rawfor a whole year. What an amazing standpoint to be at. I tried to go raw for so long, it seemed like such a distant and unimaginable future where I’d find myself saying I’d done this for a year, wow!! There are so many gifts that come with living and nourishing oneself this way, not to mention the absolute treasures of people I have met on the course of the journey!

60 Day Juice Feast – Day 47
A wonderful, wonderful day today has been. I love being back in a winter wonderland – everything feels so holiday-ish, I went with my family to get a christmas tree and we decorated the house. I’ve been a picture fiend since I got here, taking pictures of all the snowy wonder! The first pic is my lovely doggie 🙂 and a pic of the beautiful mountains in this area!! I went to bed at 9:00 last night, and it felt SO GOOD. Getting to sleep early is such a treasure for me… then I woke up and did some exercise, felt so great!
