Merry Holiday Musings
A spectacular Christmas season it was for me, how about you?
Christmas Eve found us enjoying another warm sunny day during which time sunbathing was again at hand. Evening meditation was wonderful and rejuvenitive, with Dr. Cousens ending the meditation by saying,’Shalom shalom shalom, shant shanti shanti… HO HO HO!’ (Get it – Santa?) You have to appreciate that man’s sense of humor.
The evening found us at the hot tub under a nearly full moon and finished with watching 3:10 to Yuma, a great cowboy movie taking place right here in Arizona.
Christmas day was wonderful as well. The Tree of Life is open all days of the year, so we were happily enjoying a quite but productive Christmas day, raw tacos were served for lunch at the Tree of Life Cafe – what a great Christmas lunch, eh? However, I had my spirulina salad, which I have had for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day for almost a week now.
Last evening we attended the evening meditation services once again, this night we meditated as we do every night, for about 40 minutes, and then moved into ‘Spiritual Satsang’ with Gabriel (Dr. Cousens). Very interesting questions asked about attachment, ego, the importance of developing character, kundalini awakenings, all with equally intriguing answers, as is always the case with Gabriel.
We then headed down to a grand Tree of Life holiday feast and gift exchange. Gabriel did a blessing, and we feasted like kings and queens with gratitude beyond belief. Everything from raw hummus to raw chocolate, it was delish.
The gift exchange was next, the one where you can steal other people’s gifts I don’t know what the name for it was. We scored twenty foot huge Tibetan prayer flags, which we cleverly protected from theivery with a disposition of dullness as the dramatic stealing game went on.
And now on to a very interesting thing that is happening for Thim and I which I would quite like to share.
Remember my saying that I craved spirulina salad very frequently on my juice feast? Well, since I’ve been able to return to food, I’ve been eating almost exclusively that. Sprouts, greens, lots of spirulina, and a small amount of oil.
Thim (who is equally as enthusiastic about spirulina salads as I am) and I have gone through an entire bottle of HealthForce Nutritionals Spirulina in three days.
THREE DAYS.
I can’t get enough of it. I don’t want anything else. I would rather eat it than raw chocolate or anything else you could put in front of me. And oh, people have. We’ve had raw tacos and raw pizza and anything you could think of in between, desserts, whatever…
And still, all I eat is spirulina salad…
