Where Do You Get Your Spiritual Inspiration?

Spiritual inspiration is so important! Spirituality shouldn’t be a grind – it should be inspired. Different people feel spiritually inspired by different things; some are inspired by listening to a person who inspires them spiritually (through a video, a podcast, or even in person), listening to or making music that helps them feel more connected, making art or going to see art, and spending time in nature.

Incredible Transformations

Incredible Transformations

I want to share an amazing experience I just had about 15 minutes ago. We had a closing circle for our 21 day programs at the Tree of Life: Reversing Diabetes Naturally and Transformation programs. Normally I don’t talk too much about the Tree of Life’s stuff on my own personal blog and I keep it to the official Tree of Life blog, but I was so touched by what the participants shared that I wanted to write to you about it.

Emotional Eating: An Update

Emotional Eating: An Update

It’s been a few months since I wrote about this process of mine. I’m in an interesting place. I’m eating more out of hunger than I have ever before, but I am still using food compulsively and emotionally pretty often.

I’m finding myself becoming tiresome of using food and finding it doesn’t play the roles it used to as adequately. The thought and attraction to eat generally gives way to a bit of a melancholy realization that just having eaten really didn’t do much for me. I find myself wondering, ‘Well, what was the point of that?’ This is odd for me because historically food has had major power in my life to change how I’m feeling.

Elevating My Mood

Dr. Gabriel Cousens has done a lot of work with balancing what he calls the ‘biologically altered brain’ and addressing body chemistry. I have been looking through his book ‘Depression Free for Life’ to just get some insights. I definitely don’t feel I have full blown depression, but I there may be some things out of balance in my body and brain chemistry.

Emotional Eating – An Update

This afternoon I have been reviewing some of the comments and emails that I was sent back when I was writing thoughts about emotional eating, and my own journey with that, and other forms of it – compulsive eating, eating when not hungry, etc.

I realize I haven’t updated on that in a while, and I will. For those of you who are new to the blog since then, I will update you briefly. For me, it has always been food that I have used to numb, calm, distract, and occupy. I have used it to substitute for love, attention, comfort, or whatever else I have needed but haven’t yet formulated a way to get.

Tidbit of Wisdom

From Neale Donald Walsch’s newsletter:

Betrayal of yourself in order not to betray another is betrayal nonetheless. It is the Highest Betrayal.

You are not avoiding betrayal by betraying yourself, you are merely choosing whom to betray. In fact, there is no such thing as “betrayal.” There is only the truth, finally spoken.

That is not betrayal at all. That is love. For another, and for yourself. Can you love that much?

60 Day Juice Feast – Day 32

Wow. Intensity on Day 32, holy guacamole. Yesterday was the most powerful day of my juice feast so far, perhaps one of the most powerful days I’ve ever had. I was hitting a lot of emotional stuff in the earlier part of the day – feeling really distraught and irritable. While running some errands in a nearby town, I was having, for the first time, some issues with blood sugar dropping and was getting a little dizzy. Luckily, as David has advised me, if one is in that situation on a juice feast and they don’t have access right away to juice, an emergency measure is to get one of those Odwalla juices.
