Weight and Worth

There is not necessarily a problem with having a preference for your weight.

Ideally our weight will be in the objectively medically healthy range, and if it is not, we will want to look at this.

Within this, we can have a preference as to where we feel most comfortable as we move around, tend to day-to-day activities, and exercise.

The issue is when we have associated our weight and body size/shape with our worth as a human soul.

The issue is when we feel we are less worth of respect, love, and happiness if we are not a certain weight or body shape.

You, as a human soul, are worthy no matter what you look like, what you eat like, and what your weight is.

Do you feel like it’s ok to be treated badly if you’ve got extra weight?

Like you’re not good enough to be honored, or respected?

Do you believe it’s understandable if someone doesn’t take you seriously because of your appearance?

Do you feel like nobody could ever desire you romantically unless you look a certain way?

Healing body image associations does not make you more likely to overeat. It increases true self-love, which will only ever motivate you to act in your own best interest with food.
