Green Juice Fast Days 1-3
Greetings darlings!
Today is day 3 of my fast and I am feeling wonderful. So far, this fast has had the least amount of detoxification symptoms of any I’ve done. I’ve had better mental clarity and focus and been able to work, in my observation, even more effectively for the same amount of hours per day. My energy has been pretty stable aside from a few extra naps that I normally wouldn’t need if I weren’t fasting (I really almost never need naps).
My meditations have also been deeper, as expected. Honestly, that’s one of the very best parts about fasting. Green juice fasting, in particular, invokes this effect – I’ve done fasts and Juice Feasts with fruit juice and found that my meditations, while good due to an empty stomach, are not as deep because I am consuming sugar. It’s amazing how this sense of spaciousness and light and euphoria seems to start happening in the body. In fact, how good my body feels combined with deep meditations is incentive enough to keep drinking celery collard juice

There are a few activities I haven’t done at all yet… I really ought to be doing more of them more often, but hey – I feel great and most of these are to diminish detoxification symptoms.
And now, some questions from you!
Do you recommend a certain brand of skin brush or will any one do? ~Kelli
Hi Kelli, you want the rough, coarse brushes that are specifically made for skin brushing, because the goal is to brush vigorously to promote circulation and create a red flush to the skin, which you need strong bristles for. Your skin is your largest organ of detoxification, and this kind of vigorous, whole-body brushing releases toxicity from your body through your skin. Additionally, it stimulates the lymphatic system as well as increases circulation. You can find ‘dry skin brushes’ in most health food stores. You can also buy them online by searching for ‘dry skin brush’
The lemon ginger juice sounds good…can you share your recipe? ~Rita
Hi Rita, I’m lucky enough to be getting my juices from the Tree of Life Cafe rather than making them myself, but here is the recipe the TOL Cafe uses. The base is always the same, and then the components that make up the rest are different in every juice:
Base: 80% of the juice
Celery
Cucumber
Leafy Greens: 15%-20% of the juice
Spinach
Kale
Collards
Swiss Chard
Watercress
Parsley
Beet Green
Cabbage
Herbs (bitter, use sparingly)
Dandelion
Grass
Any Leafy Greens
Other Phase 1
Tomato
Bell Pepper (red yellow orange)
Burdock
Radish
Any Green Sprouts
Sweetener: as condiments, not for those with blood sugar issues or diabetes
Parsnip
Apple
Sweet Potato
Carrot
Beet
Condiments
Lemon Juice
Cayenne
Ginger Juice
Salt
Turmeric (powder or juice)
Happy Juicing!
