Tagalong!

I’ve been ‘tagged’ which means I get to share 5 things about myself that you don’t already know.

1. Perhaps it is the first thing that comes to mind because it is also the one

thing in life I miss the most – competitive swimming and water polo. Many activities of most of my life revolved around that whole scene of water sports. They were and still are my passion, although concerns and ‘wake-up calls’ about how much damage my system has endured from chlorine have caused me to stop. I often consider going back anyways, but at this point have not. I was a competitive swimmer for 11 years, a water polo player for 5 years, a swim instructor for 2 years, and the Head Coach of a youth swim team (I coached ages 5-14) for 4 years. I have twelve state medals in Varsity competitive swimming, a school record, a year as captain of the Varsity Women’s swim team, two years as captain of the Varsity Women’s water polo team, MVP for Varsity Water polo, 2 Captains Awards for Varsity Water Polo, one team championship in Varsity Swimming and one in Varsity Water polo. I was also a lifeguard for four years.

So, at some point all pools might be totally chemical free for all to enjoy, or I’ll just build my own pool (and people need to come swim and race and play polo with me), and in the meantime, if anyone wants lessons on stroke technique, racing, water polo or their kids just need swimming lessons, I’m your woman  Just come on out to Patagonia.

2. Other passions of mine – choirs (singing in them), art (making it), meditating and orca whales.

3. I grew up on an island in the middle of Lake Champlain in VT, population of around 2,000. I went to the Kindergarten – 8th grade school, which had a total of about 250 students. My graduating 8th grade class was 18 people.

4. I lived in Maharishi Mahesh Yogi‘s community for a few months, where I meditated (Transcendental Meditation) for several hours every day and took classes at his university like ‘Consciousness, Creativity and the Brain’, ‘The Science of Creative Intelligence’, ‘Art and Nature,’ and ‘Quantum Physics’ with world renowned quantum physicist John Hagelin (from ‘What the Bleep’).

5. I used to be super allergic to cats and horses – to the point I couldn’t be able to be in a house, no matter how clean, where cats lived and couldn’t go anywhere near horses. I’d sneeze hysterically, my whole face would swell up to where I couldn’t see, and my eyes would water and itch so bad I didn’t care if I scratched my eyes out. My nose became Niagara falls! I thought I’d never pet a cat or ride a horse in this life. Between the AIM program, raw food and a natural lifestyle, I can bury my face in as many cats and horses as I want!

Now I get to pass it on! I tag David & KatrinaFrankHeidi & Justin, and Linda. Here are the rules: Link to your tagger and post these rules. Share 5 facts about yourself. Tag 5 people at the end of your post and list their names (linking to them). Let them know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment at their blogs.
