60 Day Juice Feast – Day 19
Today’s Feast, in order of consumption:
32 oz. green juice w/ lemon, cayenne and turmeric
30 oz. orange juice w/ hemp oil
1 cup grapes (spit out pulp, swallow juice)
32 oz. green juice w/ lemon, cayenne and 1 TBS spirulina
30 oz. apple/grape/cranberry/canteloupe juice
6 oz. fermented probiotic apple juice
I left a very important part out of the description in an earlier post on how to ferment coconut water... silly me. You also need a kefir starter kit to do it – we use the one by Body Ecology Diet. Sorry bout that, everyone!I tried some fermented apple juice tonight, made by a good friend – mmm was it good. I absolutely love fermented probiotic drinks!
A question from a reader:
raw by default said…
I’ve only tried bee pollen in very small amounts (like a few grains). Does a large amount like 2 tablespoons tend to overpower the rest of the juice? I’m also curious as to the purpose of the MSM. Sorry if you mentioned it elsewhere in your blog. I’m just curious. The only experience I’ve had with MSM was as an adjunct to heavy metal chelation.
Thanks for the questions – good ones. I actually don’t put the bee pollen in my juices – I just chew it up really well and eat it that way. I’ve never tried it in juice – I don’t imagine it would taste very good, but let me know how you like it if you try it…
I personally have had amazing success with MSM. I’ve been taking MSM for almost two years now. I usually take about 1 – 3 tablespoons per day, and it has totally transformed me. Outwardly, I think it has contributed significantly to the radiance of my skin, hair, and eyes. My hair is one of the biggest transformations that has happened for me since going raw. I used to have really dry, dull hair that got extremely frizzy and bushy if I didn’t do anything to it. I’d have to slather my hair in mousse or I’d have to spend hours blow-drying and straightening it. Since going raw and doing all the things I’ve been doing in the way of supplements – primarily MSM, my hair is totally different – its not frizzy, its now wavy/curly. I don’t need to use any products on it and I don’t need to dry it. The other major thing I notice when I do a lot of MSM is the strength of my nails – they get incredibly strong and thick, allowing me to always have them at a nice length. They used to break so easily that they’d always be super short. MSM is a supplement for life as far as I’m concerned. Anyone interested in learning more about MSM might be interested in the books The Miracle of MSM, by Dr. Stanley Jacob, or The MSM Miracle, by Earl Mindell, ph.D. My personal favorite is the MSM sold by Nature’s First Law (http://www.sunfood.com/).
And a good night to you!
