Going Back to Old Habits After a Juice Cleanse
If we have this positive desire, we will work through some "layers of the onion" emotionally while on the cleanse, and when we return to eating, we will naturally act differently with food, without trying. This kind of change is also permanent.
While a correctly-done Juice Feast will always benefit your health physically, doing one doesn't guarantee that you'll eat healthfully and have better habits after you finish.
Most people do initially feel motivated to eat better after they finish a juice cleanse, because ample changes have happened in their bodies to encourage healthier cravings. On a cleanse your body will become more alkaline and mineralized and your body will be able to break the physical addiction to sugar and processed foods and drinks.
However, if a person did not emotionally address the root causes of their habits with food while they were on the Juice Feast, they always eventually go back to the same old habits they had before.
They will then regain weight lost, and often whatever health symptoms they were having before will also return. Sometimes this happens immediately after they finish the cleanse, sometimes it's not till a few weeks or even months later.
On the other hand, if we are willing to face painful and uncomfortable emotions and experience them, and examine our past and current life truthfully, then we will find that changes in our behavior and desires with food will last.
And while you don't need to be on a juice cleanse to do this emotional work, many people find it really helpful to remove the option of solid food and replace it with juice, which tends to expose the emotions that are already there and are underneath compulsive eating.
