Food Addiction Does Not Indicate a Weak Will
Food addiction does not indicate that you are weak-willed, pathetic, or shameful. Food addiction DOES indicate that you’ve been treated badly and are avoiding feeling emotions.
What does having food addiction say about you?
It does not mean you are weak-willed.
It does not mean you lack discipline.
It does not mean you are pathetic.
It does not mean you are shameful.
It does not mean you are a failure.
Having food addiction DOES say:
You are judging your emotions.
You are afraid of emotions.
You haven't yet learned the truth about how emotions work.
You were treated badly in your childhood, either through trauma or by being taught to suppress emotions.
Food addiction says nothing about who you are as a person, and it is entirely unrelated to your personality or nature.
Food addiction is a result of false beliefs and suppressed emotions.
Judging and belittling yourself for overeating, or minimizing the entire issue to poor discipline, only perpetuates overeating and will prevent true healing.
You can heal food addiction, no matter how long you've had it or how severe it's been.
