Joyously Action Taking
It has been a happy weekend inDEED… Whole Foods has some raw desserts now! Don’t remember the brand name, but I had a chocolate pie called ‘Who’s Your Daddy‘, and did it ever make me ask that very question….
I’ve seen two great movies this weekend (YAY! Movies that didn’t waste my time!!):
1) Horton Hears a Who
2) The Namesake
Our lovely guests for the ‘Sacred Relationships‘ workshop have been here since Friday – this is a workshop led by Gabriel and Shanti about, well, sacred relationships When this workshop happens it seems like the place has an extra little spark… likely due to a large amount of very starry eyed couples…. Tonight at the cafe there was all this beautiful dining ware out – china and linens and candles and everything for all the workshop participants waiting to be taken to wherever it was meant to grace some quite romantic meal… This workshop is one of those that seems to be kept sort of a mystery unless you take it
I do love Abraham-Hicks, and I’d like to share a daily quote:
If there is something that you have to do, resist the temptation to do it under duress. Ask yourself, “What’s the worst thing that would happen if I didn’t do this?” And if you can get away with not doing it at all, don’t do it. And then imagine what would it feel like to have this done. Spend a day or two, if you can, just 15 minutes here, 5 minutes here, 2 minutes here, here and here, imagining it completed in a way that pleases you! And then, the next time you decide that you’re going to take action about it, the action is going to be a whole lot easier.
I have been playing with this idea – the idea that any action you take in a state of resistance won’t likely amount to much and could even backfire – the trick is to get yourself, however you can, to look forward to taking that action – try to turn any action you ‘have to do’ into something you ‘want to do’ and THEN do it… that way you know its results are in line with your highest vision for yourself and your life. Why? Because you took the action in joy, and so it will reap you more joy. It’s sort of logical – why would action taken in discord somehow produce harmonious results? I think a lot of the trick of this is to (as A. Robbins would say), ‘link’ pleasure to the action itself, and to think of reasons ‘why’ to do the action that create pleasure.
Even if we can’t necessarily figure out how to say ‘This is why this is a GREAT thing to do’, we can still get into a super happy mood before and when we take that action or complete that task.
AND, what if the way we gauged every single action was to consider what the BEST case scenario would be, and then go by that? What is the BEST way this action could turn out?
So, I’ve actually been refusing to take action if I’m in a less than the best ever mood, and if I have to take action anyways, I sit with myself and do whatever I have to do to GET into a fantastic mood, THEN I take action. And I’m observing it DEFINITELY turns out better..
